Ostara is only one week from now, on march 21st. So it’s about time that I share with you what you can do to celebrate! It’s going to be my first time of celebrating Ostara, so I’m a little bit excited!
Because Ostara marks the beginning of spring and the birth of new life, working with flowers is an obvious choice. You can make a flower crown or wreath (I actually have a tutorial for this on my blog!) – but because I’ll sadly be pretty busy on Ostara, I think I will just pick some flowers and put them in a vase and press some of them. You can use spring flowers like crocus flowers, dandelions, daffodils and many more. The colours for Ostara are pastel colours like yellow, pink and green.
It’s also a good time to plant seeds, so if you have some, now is the time!
Decorating your Altar
I don’t have an altar yet, but if you do, you can decorate it with flowers, coloured eggs, seeds, earth and so on. Fitting aninals are sheep, rabbits and birds. Chrystals that match with Ostara are amethyst, rose quartz, aquamarine, jasper and moonstone.
I love baking! I sadly won’t have time to bake on Ostara, but if you do, foods that are commonly eaten on Ostara are:
- Hot cross buns / cross quarter Bund
- Leafy greens
- Dairy products
- Seeds and nuts
If you’re into baking, I’m sure you’ll be able to make something out of these ingredients!
Go for a walk
Ostara means that spring is about to arrive. So you could go outside and maybe try to spot the first greens and flowers and enjoy the refreshing air. Leave your phone at home or turn it off and just relax outside!
Beginn new things
Have you always wanted to learn a new language? Have you dreamed about moving your furniture around or painting your walls a different colour? Do you want to cut your hair or dye it? Now is the time! Ostara represents rebirth and a new start so it’s the perfect opportunity to finally do it! There are so many things we can change about our life and I guarantee that you will feel much better if you just do it!
That is all for today. I hope this post was helpful to you and you can spend a blessed Ostara!
Sending much love your way.
